Cusimano Construction LLC is a Florida CBC-licensed general contractor founded by Stephen Cusimano in 2002. We build, restore, and renovate commercial, hospitality, and residential properties across Southwest Florida and beyond, with a body of work spanning $200K to $10M+ projects.
We are a small, principal-led general contractor. That is the most important thing to know. Every project we take on is run by people whose names appear on this page, not by a layered estimating department on the other side of the state. We carry a Florida CBC license, we estimate insurance work in Xactimate, and the founder has 42 years in the field — most of it in hospitality, disaster restoration, and commercial construction across the US and the Caribbean.
From Key West to Southwest Florida
Cusimano Construction was founded in 2002. The early years built the firm's reputation in Key West and Central Florida, with a track record concentrated in hotel and resort renovations, hurricane damage restoration, and commercial buildouts — Crowne Plaza Houston, Casa Marina (Wyndham), Best Western Maingate Kissimmee, La Concha, The Gates, the Key West Hotel Collection, and dozens of build-to-suit retail scopes for tenants like Dion's, Winn-Dixie, Divers Direct, Dunkin', and ADCS Clinics.
The Florida LLC entity was registered in 2010 (FL Corp #L10000115264), and the firm continued to take on increasingly complex work — including the recent Tuscana Resort hurricane remediation in Davenport (9 buildings on 15 acres) and the full structural and cosmetic renovation of the Key West Hotel Collection (525 guestrooms across four properties under Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, and the Highgate-branded Gates properties).
Today the firm is headquartered in Englewood, FL — positioned to serve Southwest Florida's post-Ian and post-Helene/Milton restoration market with the same insurance-first, Xactimate-driven approach that built the firm's reputation in hospitality. We build and restore across Sarasota and Charlotte counties: Englewood, Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, and Sarasota.

His skill set covers strategic planning, project management, conceptual estimating, project scheduling, value engineering, design review, risk management, and — distinctly for a GC — claims management and resolution. His niche is the development and refurbishment of hospitality projects, with a body of work spanning $200K to $10M+ across commercial, residential, and industrial work across the US. Most recently he led the hurricane damage remediation at Tuscana Resort in Davenport, FL — nine buildings on fifteen acres. He holds Florida CILB CBC #1258403 and is Xactimate-certified for insurance estimating.
