The installer is the risk

You specified the right paper. The wrong installer ruins it on the wall.

You spent weeks getting a hand-painted scenic or a $400-a-yard silk approved. The order is non-returnable and back-ordered twelve weeks. Then it arrives, and the whole job comes down to whoever shows up to hang it. A bad seam, a mismatched repeat, a panel hung out of sequence, paste bleeding onto a silk face: any one of those becomes a conversation you have to have with your client, and it lands on you, not the installer. That is the real exposure on a luxury interior. It is why most designers keep one installer they trust and refuse to gamble on anyone else. We built this trade program to be that installer. Steve Cusimano started hanging wallcovering at 21 in a prince’s palace in Saudi Arabia, and 42 years later that same standard goes on every wall we touch. We hang grasscloth, silk, hand-painted scenics, murals, and the delicate specialty lines that make designers nervous, with the surface prep, sequencing, and seam discipline those materials demand. How we vet out

The five questions you ask every installer — answered before you ask

  • Brand and material fluency: hands-on with de Gournay, Fromental, and Gracie hand-painted panels; Phillip Jeffries grasscloth and natural textures; Pierre Frey, Scalamandré, and Maya Romanoff specialty and textile lines. We read the manufacturer’s install spec for each line and follow it, not a generic method.
  • References on request: we put you in touch with designers, hospitality owners, and the GCs we work under so you can vet us the way you would any trade partner before a single panel ships.
  • Insurance and a written workmanship guarantee: full general-liability coverage, certificates issued to your firm or the GC on request, and a stated guarantee on our installation workmanship — if a seam or a panel is on us, we make it right.
  • Crew capacity and scheduling reliability: a named lead on every job, realistic dates we actually hold, and the bench to staff a multi-room residence or a full-floor commercial scope without subbing the work out to whoever is available.
  • Honest timelines by material: paper-backed grasscloth moves quickly; silk, delicate unpasted goods, and hand-painted scenics do not. We give you a per-material schedule up front so your install window survives contact with reality.
  • COM and client-supplied goods handled correctly: we log every roll on receipt, check dye lots and panel sequence against the packing list, flag short or damaged shipments before install day, and store the material in conditioned space — not a hot garage.
  • Jobsite protection and cleanliness: floors and finished surfaces masked and protected, walls left clean, paste and trim managed as we go. Your client should not be able to tell anyone was there except for the wall.
  • Off-hours and occupied-space work: evenings, weekends, and phased schedules for occupied residences, hotels, clubs, and offices, coordinated around your client’s life and the GC’s sequence.
  • We protect your client relationship: we show up under your name, send design questions back to you, never solicit your client directly, and keep the install uneventful so the only thing your client notices is the wall.
How a trade job runs

From your spec to a finished wall

    Spec review and site walk

    Send us the spec, yardage, and elevations. We review the manufacturer’s install requirements, walk the site, and flag any substrate, humidity, or sequencing issue before the material is even ordered.

  2. 02

    Material receipt and prep

    We receive and log the COM, verify dye lots and panel sequence, and prep the wall: lining where the spec calls for it, priming to the right porosity so the seams lie flat and the goods release cleanly later.

  3. 03

    Install to manufacturer spec

    Booking times, double-cutting, repeat and pattern match, and seam discipline run to the line’s own method: scenics hung in numbered sequence, silk handled dry-edged so paste never touches the face.

  4. 04

    Walk-through and sign-off

    We walk the finished wall with you or your client, address any punch item on the spot, and leave the room clean. You sign off knowing the spec landed exactly as you drew it.

What designers and architects ask first

  • Do you install client-supplied (COM) wallcovering?

    Yes — most luxury trade work is client- or designer-supplied. We receive and log every roll, check dye lots and panel sequence against the packing list, and flag short or damaged goods before install day so a back-order doesn’t blow up your schedule the morning of. We store the material in conditioned space until we hang it.

  • Are you experienced with high-end lines like de Gournay and Fromental?

    Yes. We install hand-painted scenics and panels from lines such as de Gournay, Fromental, and Gracie, grasscloth and natural textures from Phillip Jeffries, and specialty and textile goods from Pierre Frey, Scalamandré, and Maya Romanoff. For each line we follow the manufacturer’s own install spec. These are not interchangeable, and treating them as if they are is how expensive paper gets ruined.

  • Can you provide references and proof of insurance?

    Yes to both. We provide trade references on request: designers, hospitality owners, and the GCs we work under. We carry full general-liability coverage with certificates issued to your firm or the GC, and we stand behind a written workmanship guarantee, so if a seam or panel is on us, we correct it.

  • How far in advance do you need to be scheduled, and can you work off-hours?

    For a single delicate room, a couple of weeks’ notice is usually enough; multi-room residences and commercial scopes want more lead time so we can hold a named crew for you. We routinely work evenings, weekends, and phased schedules in occupied homes, hotels, and clubs so the install never disrupts your client’s life or the GC’s sequence.

  • How do you protect my relationship with my client?

    We work under your name and stay in our lane. Design questions go back to you, we never solicit your client directly, and we keep the install quiet and clean. Our job is to make you look right for specifying us. We have no interest in coming between you and the people who hired you.
