Luxury Wallcovering & Wall Finishing

The installer designers call
when the material can’t be risked.

Southwest Florida’s specialist in high-end wallcovering: grasscloth, silk, hand-painted scenics, murals, plus artisan plaster finishes, hung and troweled by a 42-year master craftsman who is also a licensed Florida general contractor. Designers, hotels, and luxury homeowners hand us the roll they can’t afford to ruin.

What we do

Fine wallcovering is a trade, not a product you stick to a wall.

A $400-a-yard hand-painted panel and a roll of big-box vinyl are not the same job. Grasscloth shades panel to panel, so it has to be sequenced and reverse-hung for the wall to read even. Silk shows every speck of adhesive that touches its face. Hand-painted scenics arrive as numbered panels with one correct order and no margin for a misread repeat. Get any of it wrong and the material is gone. There is no touch-up. We install the lines designers specify when the budget and the client leave no room for error: Phillip Jeffries, de Gournay, Fromental, Gracie, Scalamandré, Pierre Frey, Maya Romanoff. The wall behind that material matters as much as the covering on it. Because Cusimano Construction holds a Florida CBC general contractor’s license (CBC 1258403), the same crew that hangs the covering can also skim, float, prime, and rebuild the substrate. A failed wall never turns into the installer’s word against the builder’s. One trade, one standard, framing to final seam.

Why CCL

A master installer who can also build the wall behind the wall.

  • Installer and licensed GC in one accountable partner

No paperhanger or finish artist can prep, skim, and rebuild the substrate under a Florida CBC general contractor’s license. CCL can (CBC 1258403). When a wall needs floating, a moisture source corrected, or trim and framing reset before the covering goes up, it stays one crew, one standard, one warranty.

  • 42 years of craft, from a palace wall to yours

Steve Cusimano started at 21, hanging wallcovering in a prince’s palace in Saudi Arabia. Forty-two years later the same standard goes on every wall we touch. This is muscle memory, not a YouTube tutorial.

  • Fluent in the lines designers specify

We install the high-end houses every week: Phillip Jeffries, de Gournay, Fromental, Gracie, Scalamandré, Pierre Frey, Maya Romanoff. Each one gets handled to its own rules. Grasscloth, silk, and hand-painted panels are not interchangeable, and we don’t treat them that way.

  • Proven at hospitality scale

Our documented hospitality portfolio exceeds $25M, including $11M+ over seven years with Westmont Hospitality across 800+ guestrooms and the Key West Hotel Collection (525 guestrooms across four properties). Those brand-standard renovations included wallcovering — at volume, on schedule, to spec.

  • Built for coastal-Florida humidity

A Gulf-coast wall is not a dry-climate wall. We choose breathable adhesives and finishes, watch moisture and dew point during the install, and prep substrates against the seam lift and mold that humidity causes. The work still looks right two summers from now.

How a wallcovering project runs with us

From selection to the last seam.

  1. 01

    Selection review & site walk

We review the chosen line with you or your designer, take the room’s real measurements, check the substrate, and flag anything that affects yardage or the wall: repeat, railroading, lead time.

  2. 02

    Surface preparation

Remove old covering, repair and skim the wall flat, prime, and where the material calls for it, hang a lining paper. Most failures trace back to a wall that was never prepped right. We don’t skip it.

  3. 03

    Layout & sequencing

Plumb the first drop, plan seam placement around focal walls, and sequence grasscloth and scenic panels so shading and the repeat resolve correctly before a single strip is set.

  4. 04

    Installation

Book the material, hang to plumb, and double-cut seams so they sit tight and flat. Faced goods get clean-hands handling and protected edges. No adhesive touches a silk or hand-painted surface.

  5. 05

    Inspection & handoff

Raking-light walk of every seam and corner, touch-out of the room, attic-stock and care notes handed over. You sign off on a wall that reads the way it was drawn.

Frequently asked

Luxury wallcovering questions.

  • How much does luxury wallpaper installation cost?

Fine wallcovering installation in Southwest Florida is priced per roll or per yard, with wall preparation quoted separately, and the material itself is usually the largest line on the invoice. Grasscloth, silk, and hand-painted scenics cost more to install than standard paper because they need lining, panel sequencing, and slower handling. We quote prep and installation as separate line items after a site walk, so you see what the wall needs apart from what the covering costs. Price tracks the material and the condition of the wall behind it.

  • Do you install material I bought through my designer or directly from the maker?

Yes. Most of our work is installing client- or designer-supplied material from houses like de Gournay, Fromental, Phillip Jeffries, and Gracie. Send us the line, the repeat, and the panel count and we’ll confirm yardage and prep before anything ships. We treat owner-supplied goods as irreplaceable, because they usually are.

  • Why does grasscloth look like it has shading or color variation?

That variation is the natural fiber, not a defect, and it is why grasscloth has to be installed by someone who plans for it. We sequence panels in roll order and reverse-hang alternating strips so the eye reads a continuous wall instead of a seam line every few feet. Skip that discipline and even a flawless grasscloth looks patchy. Done right, the shading reads as depth.

  • Does Florida’s humidity affect wallcovering?

It does, and it is the most common reason wallcovering fails on the Gulf coast. Trapped moisture lifts seams, feeds mold behind the paper, and breaks the adhesive bond on a wall that was sealed wrong. We prime substrates to manage moisture, choose breathable adhesives and finishes where the material allows, and control conditions during the install. Building the wall correctly underneath is half of why our work holds up here.

  • Can you also fix or rebuild the wall before you hang the covering?

Yes, and this is where the general contractor’s license matters. As a licensed Florida CBC general contractor (CBC 1258403), CCL can repair plaster, skim and float an uneven wall, correct a moisture source, or reset trim and framing as part of the same job. A paperhanger has to stop at the surface. We don’t. One partner owns the wall and the covering, so a failure never turns into a finger-pointing match.

  • Do you work with interior designers and architects on the trade side?

Designers and architects are our first audience. We read a spec book, hold to your selection without substituting, protect adjacent finishes, and give you seams that disappear in the photographs. We can advise on yardage, repeat, and substrate during your specification phase, so the install goes the way it was drawn instead of the way the wall forced it.

FAQ

Have a wall worth doing right?

Send us the line you’ve specified and a few photos of the wall. We’ll come back with yardage, prep, and a plan to hang it without a single wasted panel.
